Sound familiar?

  • You look steady outside; inside you feel overloaded and wired.
  • Workdays stretch later; you finish email on the couch or in bed.
  • Evenings are short; by the time you slow down, it’s time to sleep.
  • 3 a.m. wake-ups are more common (often about work or money).
  • Weekends refill you a little, but Sunday night your mind spins again.
  • You don’t have to be sure this “counts” as burnout, stress, or anxiety — if you feel permanently on, we can sort it out together.

I’ve worked in counselling and mental health for over 30 years, much of it with people in high-responsibility roles. I’ve been a Registered Social Worker in B.C. since 2013.

Steady first.

This week we make your week feel breathable.

  • checkmark Protect one evening so work stops spilling into the night.
  • checkmarkCreate one work-free block you’ll keep, even when it’s busy.
  • checkmark Choose one small boundary that reduces the load right away.

Map the pattern.

  • checkmark We’ll name the drivers — workload, role demands, people-pleasing, perfection, money pressures, and older rules about worth or safety (“always be on,” “don’t drop the ball”) — and pick the smallest lever to move first.

Make It Stick.

  • checkmarkSmall weekly experiments (buffer, shutdown ritual, or boundary), with a short follow-up email so the plan is easy to keep.
  • checkmark Within 1–3 sessions, many professionals feel their week a little more bounded — fewer late-night logins and a clearer off-switch at least once or twice.
  • checkmark We’re not rebuilding your whole career at once — we start with this week.

When your week feels like yours again

Wave icon
  • Work stops spilling into every evening — you shut the laptop earlier.
  • Evenings feel more present — with the people you care about.
  • Fewer 3 a.m. wake-ups — mornings start calmer and less behind.
  • You say “yes” more slowly — boundaries hold without as much guilt.
  • Weekends refill more — you start Monday less resentful and more steady.
  • Many people tell me they still care about their work — but it no longer runs every corner of their week.

Do I need a diagnosis or EAP referral?
No. You can book directly. If you need paperwork for benefits, I can provide receipts and, if needed, coordinate with your family physician with your consent.
Will we just talk about work?
We’ll start where the pressure shows up most (often work), and, if you want, we’ll also look at the rest of your life so the change actually holds.
What if my schedule is unpredictable?
We’ll book at a pace that fits your current schedule (often weekly to start), and we can adjust as things settle.
Will talking about burnout put my career at risk?
No. Sessions are confidential within legal and ethical limits. We can also talk about how to set boundaries at work without oversharing.
Can I keep my camera off?
Yes. Camera-off is okay on hard days — we can still do solid work by voice.
